Choosing bag sealing tape starts with the bag and dispenser you already use. Tape width, core size and the opening for the gathered bag neck all matter. This guide uses GGR Supplies UPVC-24BS bag sealing tape as a practical example: nominal 3/8-inch-wide tape, 180 yards per roll and a 3-inch core.
1. Match the tape width and core to your dispenser
Check your dispenser's accepted tape width and core diameter before ordering a refill. A roll can have the right width but still fail to fit the holder if its core is the wrong size. UPVC-24BS rolls in this collection have a nominal 3/8-inch width and a 3-inch core. Tape widths follow industry metric sizing, so use your dispenser's specifications when checking fit.
The Excell 7605K bag sealing dispenser accepts tape up to 12 mm wide on a 3-inch core. Those dimensions accommodate these UPVC-24BS rolls. Its bag-insertion opening is approximately 5/16 inch wide; check whether your bag's twisted neck fits that opening too. Roll fit and bag fit are separate checks.
2. Choose tape for the closure you need
Bag sealing tape wraps around the gathered neck of a film bag. UPVC-24BS has an unplasticized polyvinyl chloride film backing, a solvent-based natural rubber adhesive and a total thickness of 2.4 mils. Listed applications include produce, bakery products, candy, floral arrangements, hardware and industrial parts packaged in polyethylene or other film bags.
Test the closure with your actual bag material and contents before using it for a full packing run. A taped bag-neck closure is different from heat sealing the edges of a bag.
3. Pick a color and pack size
Different tape colors can help your team distinguish product groups or packing dates. Define your own color key and keep it consistent; a tape color does not have a universal freshness meaning.
- Single roll: A practical starting point for checking fit or occasional packing.
- 10-pack: Refill stock for regular use.
- 96-roll case: A larger supply for ongoing packing operations.
Each roll is 180 yards long. When comparing pack prices, divide the selected pack price by the number of rolls. Then confirm that the compared rolls have the same width and length. See the current UPVC-24BS colors and pack options for availability and pricing.
4. Load a compatible bag sealer correctly
For the Excell 7605K, follow the loading instructions supplied with the dispenser:
- Insert the dispenser's removable core into the tape roll, then place it in the core holder.
- Pull the tape over the top of the dispenser with the adhesive side facing up.
- Twist the bag neck and pull it down through the top slot to apply the tape.
- Use the dispenser's trimmer as directed to trim excess bag material, keeping fingers clear of the blade.
Common questions before ordering
Will this tape fit every bag sealer?
No. Match the tape width, 3-inch core and roll clearance to the dispenser, and check the gathered bag-neck opening. A dispenser described simply as a bag sealer may use a different tape size or closure method.
Is a 3/8-inch tape roll the same as a 1/2-inch roll?
No. They are different nominal widths. The UPVC-24BS options currently offered in this collection are 3/8 inch wide. Do not choose a refill from the product name alone; check the selected variant.
What should I check if the seal is inconsistent?
Check tape orientation, the threading path and whether the twisted bag neck fits the slot. Inspect the dispenser for tape buildup according to its maintenance instructions. If the problem continues, contact GGR Supplies with your dispenser model, tape size and bag material.
