KPT Series Polyimide Tapes are Kapton™ alternative, high-temperature masking tapes designed for use in wave soldering, hot air leveling, and PCB processing. Made with 1 or 2 mil polyimide film and coated with a high-performance silicone adhesive, these tapes offer exceptional heat resistance, mechanical stability, and chemical durability.
The adhesive is engineered to thermoset under heat, enhancing adhesion while remaining cleanly removable with minimal residue—reducing clean-up and minimizing rework or rejects. Their translucent amber film permits visual inspection of the circuit board during processing, and the film is both tear and abrasion-resistant, even at elevated temperatures.
Ideal for protecting gold fingers during soldering, masking during hot air leveling, and general high-temp electronic applications, KPT tapes meet UL 510 and are formulated to comply with MIL-P-46112B standards.
